Eaton Community Schools

Eaton Community Schools (ECS) uses hundreds of website and apps for teaching and learning in every grade. For our students to utilize these services, the service provider often collects students' personal information. A periodically updated list of these resources, including links to their privacy policies, is available under "Technology" on our website. The federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) law permits EVS to consent to the collection of personal information on behalf of all students, thereby eliminating the need for individual parental consent. Further, ECS monitors student activity, including location (for lost devices only), student interactions, and web browsing, for educational purposes (teaching, support, proctoring) and to prevent/respond to safety threats. This letter is the district's Annual Technology Privacy Notice, fulfilling the requirements of Ohio Revised Code Sections 3319.325 to 3319.327.
